You may define a charge to be product specific. This is most widely used when defining packing charges. The only product fields that you are required to use when defining a charge of this type are the Commodity & Stage. All of the other elements are optional. So when defining a product specific charge, you need to define the charge with the non-required fields first, then follow with the commodity and stage.
Example
Let’s say that you are packing 25# bags. All of the bags are comparable except for one (which uses a foil label.) So you set up a packing charge for 25# poly bags @ a rate of .31/ea and you set up a second packing charge for 25# poly bags Kroeger @ a rate of .52/ea. You would need to organize the rates so that the ‘Kroeger’ rate was encountered before the default rate. Then if the product found a match on the ‘Kroeger’ brand it would use the .52/ea rate. If it did not find a match, it would continue on and match to the 25# poly bags and would use the .31/ea rate.
